BEAUTIFUL MUSIC by Marianne Evans

Callie Phillips has a past she's not proud of and one event she just can't quite put to rest. Though she's closed off her heart, she finds peace as a music director at Queen of Angles Church and choir teacher at school. Luke West is an EMT who has a passion for the sanctity of life. He's also been the rock his brother has leaned on, especially where his daughter, Dawn, is concerned. Dawn loves music and when Callie hears her sing she decides to help Dawn embrace her talent. Luke finds himself drawn to Callie. He sees a beautiful, talented woman with a loving heart. Callie's heart responds to Luke but she knows that once he knows about her past he'll want nothing to do with her. Will Luke forgive her past and show Callie she is worthy to be loved? Will Callie be able to open her heart to the possibility of love?

In this second installment of the Sal's Place Series we meet Callie and see how she deals with a very emotional event in her past. Something I'm sure many have dealt with. Callie was very likable and I felt like her emotions rang true. Luke was a level-headed guy with a heart as big as Texas and I liked the way he responded to Callie! Dawn was a such a cute and sweet little girl. I enjoyed getting to know her. This story did not have quite the playfulness Search and Rescue had, but we do get to see Ryan and Jennifer again, which was fun. One thing that kept coming to mind while I was reading is that 'as far as the east is from the west so far has God removed our transgressions from us'. If we're a believer, He remembers our sins no more. Although we know that's true, a lot of folks still struggle, just as Callie did, to let go of past transgressions. But remember Lamentations 3:22-23 'the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is His faithfulness.' So...can God really make Beautiful Music from a broken instrument? Drop by Sal's Place and find out!
