WHEN TRUTH WHISPERS by Dora Hiers

Teal Benning is a best selling romance author who returns home to Promise Lake after breaking up with her finance`.  She's having trouble finishing the story she's in the middle of writing and hoping that she'll find some inspiration by being home again.  What she finds is Hunter Miciver.  Hunter and Teal have been best friends forever.  He was always the one who was there for her when things went wrong.  He's also always loved Teal but will she ever see him as a man who would love and cherish her?  Teal has trouble with trusting men except for Hunter.  But Hunter has a secret he's not shared with Teal.  When he tells her the truth, will she figure he's like the rest of the men she's known or will she finally see whats been right in front of her all along?

Once again this author brings to the table a well-crafted romantic tale.  One about returning home and finding what's important.  I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Teal and Hunter.  They were larger than life characters and the chemistry between them was electric.  I loved it!  I appreciated how Hunter handled things (especially his advice to Teal concerning her romance novels), but also how he waited for the Lord's direction and timing.  The Lord knows the plans He has for us, we just have to trust Him and wait.  That's usually easier said then done.  If you're looking for a quick romantic read with a hint of mystery then I recommend When Truth Whispers.
