Connor Christianson is a successful lawyer who can pretty much have
whatever money can buy. To bad he can't buy love. His terrible childhood
has made him cold and indifferent to just about everyone except his
dying brother, Allen. Connor plans to keep the promise he made to Allen,
it just might tougher than he thought. Kaley Mills doesn't have money
but she has great faith in a great God. She works in a diner and is
almost finished with her teaching degree. She's doing her best to raise
her daughter, Macie and giving her all the love she never got growing
up. One day, Connor comes into the diner. Kaley is immediately taken
with him but sees he has a troubled spirit. Her kind and bubbly
personality isn't what Connor expected, nor was her great faith in God.
Connor comes to her rescue a couple of times and has opportunities to
observe her with Macie and realizes what a good and loving mother she
is. As they spend more time together, the connection between Connor and
Kaley is growing stronger. The road ahead, however, is winding and
bumpy. Is Kaley's faith strong enough to see her though. Will Connor be
able to let go of past hurts and reach out to God for healing? Can
promises made, be kept?
WOW! What an amazing story of God's love
and grace. The Promise draws you in right from the start and doesn't let
you go until the last page is turned. You'll find tragedy and triumph
and lots of twists and turns, which is a definite plus for me. I love
stories where there is lots of interaction and dialog between the main
characters and that's exactly what I found here. Connor and Kaley shared
a such a strong chemistry that it really set the stage for lots of
great romantic tension, which I love! Kaley was such a loveable lady.
Her strong faith was a great example to Connor as well as to the reader.
Connor was one leading man you won't soon forget. His strong yet tender
ways will make you swoon! Macie will completely win you over with her
cute personality. The secondary characters are as full of life as Connor
and Kaley, which really enhances the reading experience. This was the
kind of story, that when you get to the last page (although you hate to
see it end) you feel totally satisfied. Kathleen Sherwood is a favorite
author and I must say, this is a favorite story. One I would find myself
reading again. If you enjoy a character-driven story, with lots of
great romantic tension along with a great message, than I promise you,
you will love 'The Promise'!

I absolutely loved 'Wish You Were Here' so I
was SO excited to see there was a follow-up. You Made Me Love You was
everything I hoped for and more!!! Seth and Meghan are unforgettable and
so much fun. Once you start reading, you just can stop and you don't
want it to end. I must say too, that although this is a novella it
doesn't read like one. It was loaded with great romantic tension and
lots of memorable moments. It's one I would definitely read again. You
could read this as a stand alone but I highly recommend you start with
'Wish You Were Here' first. You Made Me Love You is the perfect title
for this sweet little treasure and one I highly recommend! Love the
cover too!

mentioned Stephen to Haley. Sam and Stephen were mirror images of each
other and that's difficult for Haley at first, but as Stephen helps her
out she begins to see how different they really are. Stephen and Haley
are very drawn to each other and slowly build a relationship but is
Haley only attracted to him because he looks like Sam. Would building a
life together somehow dishonor his brother?
Somebody Like You is a
beautiful story that is loaded with lovable characters that just reach
out and grab you by the heart. Full of emotion and grace, along with
splashes of humor, made this an absolute joy to read. The easy pacing
helps you savor every moment (and I did). I would love to see this made
into a movie! I loved the interaction between Haley and Stephen and most
especially loved how Stephen handled things. Throughout the story, the
author touches on many real-life challenges in a realistic way. I
appreciated the spiritual thread running through the story; are we
making our plans or are we asking God to show us His plans? Now there's
some food for thought. The one thing I wished for when I got to the end
was an Epilogue. I loved the ending but wanted just a little more, maybe
because it was so hard to close the book on these wonderful friends.
Beth Vogt has really become a favorite author of mine! I am looking
forward to her next book-offering. In-the-meantime, I highly recommend
Somebody Like You!

Only one thing really matters to Caleb and that is to see his sweet

believes in his innocence. But when shots are fired and they find
themselves on the run together, she observes how he is with his daughter
and begins to change her mind. All Caleb wants to do is keep them safe
but it's hard when you're not sure who you can trust. They're running
out of options though and in a step of faith Caleb decides to trust his
once best friend. Will that prove to be a big mistake or will his friend
help him prove his innocence?
WOW! This was a finely-tuned,
tightly-written, edge-of-your-seat story that I could not put down. I
seriously could not read fast enough. There were several places where
the suspense had me holding my breath feeling anxious. In all fairness,
this story should come with a warning label that once you start the
book, all other tasks will be forgotten until you're finished! I loved
getting to know Caleb and Noelle. Both were loving people but reserved
and you understand why as the story unfolds. I love the way Noelle
influenced Caleb, as well as Kaitlin, with her strong faith. Their
relationship was a slow build that felt very natural. Kaitlin was a
sweet little girl. You truly felt bad for the situation she was in. I
can't even imagine being on the run or being framed but you sure get a
taste of what that would be like to be Wrongly Accused. This is the
first book in Laura Scott's new SWAT: Top Cops series and comes highly
recommended. I am now anxiously awaiting Book 2, Down To The Wire.

Devynne Lang was a former Hollywood star who, after being stalked and
changing her identity, found refuge on the San Juan Islands. When her
husband, Kent, (a policeman) is shot, she vows to keep her daughter safe
and pretty much leads a secluded life; keeping folks at a distance.
Then strange things begin to happen that lead her to believe her stalker
has found her. What should she do? She feels like she put her husband
at risk and she doesn't want to do that to Carcen. Should she tell him?
Carcen Lang is the sheriff and he would do anything to protect his
beautiful sister-in-law and her daughter. When he finds out she's in
danger he promises to stick close and find out who's responsible. As
buried feelings begin to rise between Carcen and Devynne so does the
danger. Will they figure out who the stalker is before it's too late?
Wow!
This was an excellent romantic suspense. The story keeps you totally
engaged from beginning to end. The author does a great job of skillfully
weaving together all the things I really like in a story; mystery,
suspense, romance and splashes of humor. Not to mention several
hold-your-breath moments. The characters were all very well drawn and
fully fleshed out. I loved the tentative relationship between Devynne
and Carcen and Devynne's little girl was delightful. But what I
thoroughly appreciated was how the author masterfully kept you from
knowing, without a doubt, who the stalker was. I thought I had it
figured out a couple times but then evidence would point to someone
else. The spiritual thread running through the story was naturally part
of the characters lives and realistic. The author used John 15:12-13
"This is my command: Love one another the way I have loved you. This is
the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends." I
think that verse fit the story very well. I listened to the Audible
version of this story and Johanna Parker did a fantastic job of
narrating. She really brought the story to life and made it an awesome
listening experience. If you're busy and on the go (or even if you're
not) I totally recommend the Audible version of The Unrelenting Tide.
Get it, grab your ear-buds and see if you know who the stalker is.

Redeeming
Love is a really great story! One that truly comes to life in your mind
as you're reading; like watching a movie in your head. It was such a
great mix of romance, suspense and interaction with folks you just come
to love. I got to know a little about Nugget Nate Ryder (Nathan's
grandfather) in Leah's Peace. A character I loved! So it was fun to get
to know his grandson. Redeeming Love brings together two different
series by two different authors. The Redemption Series by George Mc Vey
and The Cottonwood Series by Sophie Dawson. I haven't read either of
these series but I can promise you I will be soon. Both are excellent
writers who know how to bring a story to life, with living, breathing
characters, and when you get to the end, makes you crave more. I
appreciated the way faith was so naturally a part of this story not just
something tacked on as an after-thought. That doesn't mean they didn't
have struggles and failures, because they did, but faith was part of who
they were. I am looking forward to reading both series soon and
catching up with both Redemption and Cottonwood. You'll find at the end
of this book that another Redemption story will be coming soon. If you
enjoy a good old-fashioned western with folks you love (and some you
don't), then I highly recommend a trip to Cottonwood to find out what
Redeeming Love is all about. It's enjoyable as a stand alone but I for
one want to read the other books!

Caleb Malone returns to the states to recover after being wounded in

daughter's fiance' is cheating on her but he needs proof. All Caleb has
to do is get a few pictures, which might be easier said than done. Abby
Hughes works in her family's business as a real estate agent. A large
company is wanting to buy property in Keaton which would be a boost to
the small towns economy. Abby feels like things are moving along pretty
smoothly, with the property sale, until it becomes a battle of the land.
But it also becomes a personal battle as well. One deeply rooted in
secrets. As Abby and Caleb work together to try and figure it all out,
feelings between them begin to stir. Will those feelings and their faith
be strong enough to carry them through everything they'll face?
Love,
betrayal, forgiveness and, as the title indicates, Secrets, all come to
mind when I think about this story! It gets off to a running start and
holds your attention all the way to the end. One thing I always
appreciate about this authors work, besides the great writing, is the
way she keeps you guessing until the very end. But I've got to tell you,
she really surprised me with the twist at the end of this story. I LOVE
it when that happens! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Caleb
(a.k.a. Digger) better. What a great guy. Abby made a fine leading lady.
Full of spunk but very tenderhearted and loyal. Her two boys were full
of personality too! There was a spiritual thread running through the
story which felt very natural and dealt a lot with forgiveness. A
message we can't hear often enough. This was a great installment to the
Wounded Heroes series. It can be read as a stand alone but I would
highly recommend the others books in the series: Kill Shot, Trespasses
and Betrayal. I look forward, with great anticipation, to Vengeance! I
also want to mention that I love the book covers for this series. They
just make you want to read the story!

Dancing with Fireflies
is one of those stories that lingers in your mind long after you close
the book. You learn a little about Jade and Daniel in 'Barefoot Summer'
but here you really get to see who they are. Jade is a sweet,
free-spirited person who has experienced a lot of heartache. Daniel was a
hero that's easy to love. His easy-going ways just draw you in. When
you have a longtime-friendship-brother-sister relationship, switching
gears gets complicated. The author did a great job of laying the ground
work and I would definitely call it sweet torture. I loved the spiritual
message of relying on God especially in the difficult times. We're
reminded that times of trouble can cause us to turn from or toward God. I
love what Jade's mother told her, "The same sun that burns a shallow
rooted plant will nourish a deeply rooted one." Wow! A wonderful
reminder that we need to be deeply rooted in the Lord so when troubles
arise we won't get burned. Though this is an emotional read, you will
find relief with humorous moments. Daniel and Jade were both full of
personality and it was fun watching their playful moments together. You
could read this as a stand alone and not feel lost, but I highly
recommend you read Barefoot Summer first for a richer reading
experience. So how does it all turn out? I recommend you head on over to
Chapel Springs and see what 'Dancing with Fireflies' is all about.

Madison McKinley seems to have it all. She loves her job as a
veterinarian and she's part of a very loving and supportive family, that
everyone loves. Though Madison is grateful she still struggles to put
her twins death (from years ago) behind her. She can't sleep from a
recurring nightmare and it's affecting her life and her job. Madison
thinks if she can win the upcoming Regatta race and fulfill her
brother's dream, that the nightmares will disappear. She must first
learn to sail though. Beckett O'Reilly has always loved Madison but
knows she would never look at someone like him. He's changed from the
troublemaker he was in high school but his family hasn't. Madison will
do anything to win this race, even if it means working with Beckett. But
as they work together there is a chemistry between them that cannot be
denied. Beckett carries a secret though that could change everything.
Can their new romance find strength in adversity or will it fade into
the sunset? Will Madison find the peace she seeks in fulfilling her
bother's dream?
What a great start to the Chapel Springs Series
and might I say I love the cover! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know
all the folks and by the end of the book you really feel like you're
good friends and can't wait to return. Beckett O'Reilly was such a great
guy. He related to Madison so beautifully despite his own problems.
Madison was easy to relate to. You can totally understand her feelings
and emotions. Together they were great and I loved sharing their moments
with them. The author did a beautiful job of covering a lot of family
difficulties with grace and truth, but the most difficult was the death
of a loved one. Just about everyone has faced that at some point and I
loved what Madison's mother told Madison. "Life is a gift, however long
it lasts. It's God's to give and take away as He sees fit. We go through
life thinking we're entitled to our ninety, but we're not entitled to
anything. All we can do is trust that He knows what He's doing. That He
has a plan for all of us and that no pain He allows in our life will go
unused." WOW, what powerful and comforting words. Now don't get me
wrong, there are lots of playful moments to this story as well. It
maintained that delicate balance which is so pleasing to the reader.
Bottom line here is that you'll fall in love with the folks of Chapel
Springs, I know I did. So if you're feeling the need to get away from
the cold weather, I recommend you sail away to Chapel Springs for a
Barefoot Summer!

O'Reilly's story (Beckett's sister). "Dancing with Fireflies" is Jade
McKinley's story which I am looking forward to reading next.
