TIES THAT BIND by Anne Patrick
Joe McDaniels has a special gift, something that helps her with her job as an FBI profiler. She has the ability to sense what victims go through right before die, even their pain. She returns to her home town to help the sheriff get a profile on a killer that seems to leave no trace evidence behind. Sheriff Austin Garrett has bodies piling up on him from a vicious killer who leaves his victims headless. He's happy when the FBI sends Joe McDaniels to help him figure out who's behind the murders. It doesn't hurt that she happens to be a beautiful woman. Working together they not only become closer to each other but they're also getting closer to knowing the identity of the killer. Will they find out who it is before it's to late?
I was glued to the pages of Ties That Bind. The book sure puts you through your emotional paces though, as you experience murder through the eyes of a vicious killer. It was written is a realistic way which made it believable and scary. The characters were all lifelike, and fully fleshed out. They were real people with real problems. The relationship between Jo and Austin was a slow build that felt very natural and true to life. You learn about being a profiler which I found very interesting. You'll also find a message of family importance, faith, forgiveness, and relationship restoration. If you enjoy crime shows like CSI or NCIS, then I know you will thoroughly enjoy Ties That Bind.
